Dear parents - my name is Tami Hazen, and I am the head teacher, owner and operator of Fox and Bear Childcare, an in home family child care and preschool in NE Portland, Oregon near Rocky Butte.

I have 20 years experience operating a family child care. I am passionate about providing a nurturing, enriching, and supportive environment for young children. I believe that children at this age are supported best through positive relationships with confident, caring, and empathetic adults. The program I have developed serves a group of 16 children with developmentally appropriate activities derived from a philosophy of PLAY based education and principles from RIE, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia. Our activities include music (with a professional music teacher,) daily process art, sensory play, dramatic play, and creative free play in addition to baking, work with clay, watercolors, and gross motor activities. With a 600 square foot outdoor shelter and 2 covered patios in addition to our welcoming indoor play space, we spend most of our day outside!
